New iPhone Apps for Home Buyers

There are already several applications for iPhone users to aid in the home search. Now Homes.com is offering their own application. The Homes.com app will grab listings from Homes.com websites including AgentAdvantage, eNeighborhoods, and Number1 Expert, as well as from broker feeds. It will also feature what has become to be seen as standard Real Estate features such as maps, driving directions, and property information.

In theory all these types of applications are high tech great tools for today’s savvy home buyers. The ability to learn about a particular property, a development, or an entire neighborhood while tour that neighborhood is invaluable. The ability to narrow down one’s search before physically touring homes cuts down wasted time for buyers and Real Estate agents alike.

All these applications have their share of problems. None of the applications offer the user the full inventory of homes available on the market. More often than not a buyer can be standing in front of a home for sale and not be able to access the information on the iPhone. The inventory that is available is often not up to date and a buyer can be lead to a property that is no longer on the market. There is still a great deal of room for improvement in the mobile house hunting platform.
