Many of us received gifts over the holidays that we may be thinking about re-gifting. Or we may have received gifts that we suspect were re-gifted to us. There is a new statewide campaign to give a gift that we know will be re-gifted, the gift of blood. When you give the gift of blood it will be re-gifted, potentially to three people and those people are more than happy to receive it!

January is National Blood Donor Month so there is no better time to give than now. As is often the case New Jersey currently has a shortage of blood and is looking to increase supplies. A very small portion of those eligible to donate blood actually do. This campaign is meant to bring attention to the need for donations.

If saving lives isn’t incentive enough for you many Blood Banks offer perks to donors. The Blood Bank at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington has teamed up with Hunterdon Ski & Snowboard to offer free lift tickets to donors who donate during the rest of the month of January. Tickets are limited so if you are thinking of donating, don’t wait!
