Looking for some weekend entertainment? Today marks the beginning of the New Jersey Festival of Ballooning at the Solberg Airport in Readington. The festival will run throughout the weekend with entertainment and family activities each day. There will be five mass ascensions over the course of the weekend. If watching the balloons from the ground is not thrilling enough for you, reservations can be made for balloon rides.

 

While balloons are certainly the main attraction there is much more to enjoy at the festival. There will be hundreds of food and arts and crafts vendors, interactive exhibits, and amusement rides. Entrainment options include The Galaxy of Thrills aerial show, an Extreme Trampoline show, and the Performing Arts Company of Australia. 

 

As always musical performances are a big part of the festival and this year there are more musical performances than ever before. This year’s performers include the Gin Blossoms, Disney’s Demi Lovato, Bad Company’s Paul Rodgers, Menudo, and Kenny Loggins.
