Bernards Township holds Charter Day Celebration
Come out and enjoy the beautiful spring weather today and help Bernards Township celebrate its 248th Birthday!
“A charter from King George II signed May 24, 1760, resulted in the creation of the Township of Bernardston on that date, said June Kennedy, township historian. The township was named in appreciation for the services of Francis Bernard during his brief tenure as royal governor of New Jersey, Kennedy said.”
The day’s activates will include a street fair from 11-5, musical performances by several bands throughout the day, rides, games, and food. There will also be information booths featuring local businesses.
Plan your travel route accordingly as South Finely Avenue and portions of other surrounding roads will be closed for most of the day.
