John Bendall owner of Re/Max Classic Group shares some home selling tips.
Glenn Kelman, President and CEO of one of those discount brokerage firms made an appearance on the Today Show recently. He was going to be sharing some unconventional Real Estate knowledge, things that your agent was supposedly not telling you. I have always considered Re/Max Classic Group agents somewhat unconventional, it’s one of the things that makes us stand apart from the crowd, so I was happy to hear that the Real Estate truths that agents are not telling there clients are things that we’ve been telling our Central New Jersey home seller’s for ages.
The following are some of the tips that Kelman say’s are selling homes in today’s market, all of which I agree with.
Price your home well. This is true in any market, but particularly important now when there may be more competition for your listing. Sometimes pricing below the market can produce multiple offers, even in today’s market.
List at the end of the week. If you can, don’t wait for Monday. You will get the most traffic through on weekends, so don’t waste one doing small improvements that potential buyers may not even notice.
Use the internet to effectively market your home. As you know the internet is the first place today’s buyers look when starting their search. At Re/Max Classic Group we have made the most of promoting our listings on a number of websites, to get the most exposure possible for our sellers.
Price your home just under a range. i.e. 499,000. This will help capture more interest both in the multiple listing system and in online searches. That way you will not eliminate potential buyers capping their search at 500k.
