Time saving Tips and Tricks for the Kitchen

John Bendall owner of Re/Max Classic Group gives you tips on saving time and improving balance in your life.

Cooking tips are not a part of my usual repertoire, but everyone is always looking for new ways to save time, especially this time of year.  At Re/Max Classic Group we like to stress the importance of balance in our lives and anything that saves time with daily tasks helps us achieve more balance.  So with that in mind I’ll put on my chef’s hat and tell you about these new appliances that may help you shave off a few minutes in the kitchen.

Induction Cook Tops - New induction cook tops use magnetism to channel heat directly to a pot or pan, heating up and cooking in a fraction of the time.

High Speed Dishwashers - German appliance-maker Miele Inc. just launched a restaurant dishwasher configured for home use that offers cycles as fast as 10 minutes.

Convection Ovens - Convection ovens have been available for a while, the latest products combine various technologies, and speed up air and channel it in different ways for even faster results. Conventional ovens rely on heat from coils or a gas flame, but high-speed models use a combination of microwaves and high-speed hot air. And unlike with microwave cooking, the manufacturers say, the ovens cook food more evenly and can brown the outside of foods.

Small Appliances – Sears Holdings Corp.’s Kenmore brand recently introduced a speed-brew coffee maker and a toaster that cuts about 60 seconds out of the process of browning bread.

If none of these gadgets do the trick for you there’s always take out!
