Keeping up with Technology in the Real Estate Business
John Bendall owner of Re/Max Classic Group recommends keeping up with the times.
It has always been one of my passions to keep Re/Max Classic Group ahead of the technological curve. With our websites, our interactive voice response hotline, and our online document sharing via Settlement Room we have continually improved our business and our customer service. At this day in age our clients have come to expect the ease and convenience that technology allows them. This demonstrates the importance of keeping up with the ever changing times.
Now that technologically savvy clients are demanding more from us, how do we go about keeping up? Start with a website, if you don’t have one, get one! Many consumers today begin their Real Estate experience online and would not even consider working with an agent that did not have their own website.
Agents who keep up with technology can save themselves a lot of work. Digital photography, web commercials, and home tours allow perspective buyers the chance to narrow down their home search online. Instead of driving clients around in your car for hours or even days, drive them to your website. If they are able to, they are willing to do a lot of the “leg work” themselves. Refining their searches based on criteria they can investigate online. This can limit the number of homes you need to show them, by really pinpointing what they are interested in. The same tools can be used to offer home sellers the online exposure that they have come to expect when selling their homes
Just as consumers expect agents to keep up on the latest trends and changes in the Real Estate market, they expect you to keep up on the latest technology as well. Keeping up with the times and incorporating new technologies into your business are just a couple of the many ways to constantly learn and improve your business.
